Details
Combining the best of old and new, Boyd Coddington's 'Sportstar' is an exercise in engineering and design. Penned by Chip Foose, the Sportstar combines elements of classic Ford hot rods with more contemporary sportscars. Wearing an all-metal body, custom-fabricated frame and a machined billet suspension, this is a true one-off that took over two years to build. Power comes from the 32-valve 1UZ 4.3-liter V8 engine and is routed through an automatic transmission. Getting that power to the ground is a set of 17-inch Boyd Coddington wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/As measuring 205mm up front and 315mm in the rear. The body is finished in Boyd's Red paint and is complemented by a matching red leather interior with a Boyd steering wheel. From the Petersen Museum collection.
