Details

This custom 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is powered by a 434ci Chevrolet engine that features EFI MSD throttle body injection, MSD ignition and distributor, a forged 4340 alloy crankshaft, Procomp aluminum heads, and a roller camshaft designed by Ruben Racing. The drivetrain is managed by a 700R4 Level 3 transmission with a manual valve body and on-demand torque converter lockup in fourth gear. Additional components include a Procomp intake manifold, a Milodon oil pan, and a Vintage Air front runner system with a supplied alternator and air-conditioning compressor. Cooling is managed by a Sweet Components aluminum radiator and fans with a 10-second delay during startup. Exhaust flows through Sinclair headers and coated pipes with Borla tips. The frame has been modified by Newman Car Creations for a Corvette C4 drivetrain and suspension. It is powder-coated and equipped with Newman Cross Members, a Dana 44 rear end with 3.72 posi-traction gears and a custom aluminum driveshaft. The suspension includes a sport sway bar, rear spring, Bilstein shocks and sport power steering. Stopping power comes from Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners with a Wilwood master cylinder. The battery is relocated to the trunk with 00-gauge power and ground cables, and it has a custom 22-gallon fuel tank and shaved gas filler door. The Bel Air rides on Corvette-style 17-inch wheels in the front and 18-inch in rear, wrapped in BFGoodrich tires. The car retains its all-metal body finished in PPG paint and features flamed side moldings, a shaved hood and a relocated gas filler in the trunk. Most of the original trim was straightened, polished or replated, including the bumpers and rear glass. The interior was upholstered by Ciadella in Dark Gray and blue leather-look vinyl, a suede headliner and visors in Light Gray, black German square-weave carpeting and matching floor mats, and sound-deadening materials like Fat Mat and Second Skin. Heated seats and retractable lap belts were added. It also features a Dakota Digital dash, Ididit tilt steering column and a cut-down steering wheel, and a rearview camera is integrated into the glovebox display. Additional amenities include a Vintage Air system, Raingear 2-speed wipers, Bel Air stainless headliner bars, a working clock and chrome accents.
