Details

The vision of this custom 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air build nicknamed 'Bloodshot' was to create the ultimate Resto-Mod, and the mission was accomplished with this one-of-kind street cruiser. As the VIN indicates, this car was built in St. Louis, MO, as a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door with an 8-cylinder engine. This car was the product of a nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration with tons of high-end parts in show-quality condition from top to bottom. This car is powered by a 5.3-liter LS-based V8 engine

with a polished Magna Charger supercharger and an air-to-water intercooler. The engine is coupled to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission with a custom pan. The power is transferred to the pavement through a Ford 9-inch posi-traction rear end. The engine is cooled by a custom aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, polished fan shroud and polished overflow container. The engine breathes through ceramic-coated headers and a MagnaFlow exhaust system with chrome exhaust tips. The painted engine compartment is highly detailed and dressed with many accessories, such as Billet Specialties aluminum hinges. Some other custom features include an American Autowire wiring system, Howell engine management system, painted valve covers, powder-coated oil pan, pulleys, brackets, hoses, braided stainless-steel lines, aluminum air-conditioning condenser, powder-coated air conditioning compressor, chrome Delphi alternator and mini high-torque starter. The firewall and inner fenders were smoothed for a clean look. It also has a fabricated radiator support. The power steering box, steering linkage and reservoir were also powder-coated. The suspension system consists of a powder-coated Heidts front suspension system along with a front sway bar, 2-inch drop spindles, polished front coilover adjustable shocks and polished rear adjustable shocks. The power braking system consists of a painted 7-inch dual reservoir brake booster, Wilwood master cylinder and Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes. The undercarriage is also highly detailed with many upgrades. The original frame was powder-coated and modified by Williams Classic Chassis. The body is straight with panel gaps throughout, and the exterior is finished in House of Kolor Blue Blood Red and white paint, done to a high level and recently detailed to a deep shine. It has all-new tinted glass throughout. Some exterior custom features include chrome mirrors, Optronics LED headlights, and smoothed one-piece front and rear bumpers. This car has sits on 17-inch Budnik Muroc II polished wheels with Bridgestone tires. The custom tan leather interior was done by award-winner Ron 'The Stitcher' Mangus, who has become famous as a creator of fabulous interiors. The interior in this car was featured on the cover and eight pages of the Ron Mangus Custom Hot Rod Interior Series Chevy Tri-Five book, which is included in the sale. Some interior custom features include the sound insulation, door sills, chrome-plated brass trim and hardware, electric Custom Rod white gauge cluster, painted tilt steering column, Budnik beveled Sport steering wheel, Lexus SC400 adjustable power front bucket seats, a Vintage Air system, air-conditioning vents, one-touch up/down power front and rear windows that also operate with a remote control, power locks, electronic cruise control, hidden CD/iPod stereo system, cup holders, storage compartment and German square-weave carpet. The trunk compartment was also upholstered in matching leather and German square-weave carpet. An Optima Redtop battery with disconnect switch is in a storage area behind the center panel in the trunk. This vehicle has recently been serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice that is included in the sale.
