1970 CHEVROLET K5 BLAZER CUSTOM CONVERTIBLE

Details

This 1970 K5 Blazer custom convertible is the product of over 1,200 hours invested in a complete frame-off build. It is powered by a new GM LS7 427/505hp engine, mated to a GM Connect-and-Cruise 4L75E automatic overdrive transmission, with the original NP205 transfer case. The engine is covered by a two-year, 50,000-mile warranty. The body was stripped, top to bottom. All metalwork was completed and epoxy-primed. U-Pol Raptor protective coating was applied to the floor and underside for chip and

sound control. Dynamat installation on the inside floor provides additional sound and heat control. The body is finished with AXALTA urethane paint. The frame, radiator support, inner fenders and axles are finished with a powder coat. The engine is cooled by a DeWitt aluminum radiator. The fuel tank is stainless steel from Rick's Hot Rods, and includes a new original GM ZL1 fuel pump. The vehicle was upgraded with NOS front and rear axles from GM, featuring disc brakes on the front axle and GM posi-traction in the rear axle. It rides on a 4-inch lift kit, complete with Fox shocks and all-new leaf springs. The 315/70/17-inch Goodyear tires mounted on Mickey Thompson wheels connect the power to the ground. Upgrades include a powder-coated custom steel rollbar, with shoulder-harness seat belts, and a custom convertible top by SofTopper for an all-season ride. The interior includes all-new upholstery, carpet and weatherstripping. The comfort is handled by a Vintage Air climate control system. The dashboard includes a Dakota Digital RTX instrument cluster and a reproduction AM/FM stereo. For comfort, this ride includes an Ididit tilt steering column and a repositioned driver's seat, providing an additional 2 inches of legroom. Less than 300 actual miles since completion in November 2021.
