This extensively restored 1967 Shelby GT500KR re-creation was built using Shelby-style Maier fiberglass pieces for the front clip, hood, fender extensions, decklid and taillight panel. The exterior features stainless rocker and wheel well moldings, a white soft-top, chrome door handles and side mirror, silver Shelby-style rear
valance, chrome GT500 fuel filler, bumper and trimmed reverse lights, and fenders to re-create the look of a true Shelby GT500KR. A Robert Pond Motorsports aluminum side-oiler 427 V8 engine was stroked to 482ci bring this KR to life and produces 575hp and 573 ft/lbs of torque. The engine employs two Quickfuel-tuned 750 Holley carburetors, finned air cleaner, custom COMP Cams hydraulic roller camshaft, SCAT crankshaft, forged H-beam rods, and JE pistons. It's also outfitted with Edelbrock Performer ported heads, finned Shelby valve covers, Sanderson ceramic-coated long tube headers, Griffin aluminum radiator with electric fans, a custom dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers and rear-mounted stainless tips, March serpentine system, polished power steering pump, polished air conditioning compressor and a chrome 100-amp alternator. It has welded X subframe connectors and rides on Vintage Wheel Works V50 wheels with Bridgestone Potenza radial tires. Stopping power is provided by a 4-wheel Wilwood disc brake system that clamps 12-inch drilled and slotted rotors through 4-piston calipers. The restored factory vinyl interior features new black carpet, wood-trimmed and Cobra-branded console with traditional chrome shifter and Stewart Warner Greenline console gauges. It also features a wood-rimmed steering wheel on an Ididit steering column, Shelby wood-trimmed and chrome-detailed door panels, Shelby 140-mph speedometer and an 8,000-rpm tachometer.
