This 1932 Ford Roadster, aka 'Deuce Roadster,' is an example of a modern street rod conversion of the most iconic hot rod platform. While retaining the basic essential looks and characteristics, this roadster is based on a 'real steel' 1932 Model B Roadster, one of 8,996 produced in 1932, Ford VIN DR114492CAL. Always a Southern California car, this roadster was first transformed into a hot rod in 1963 by Forrest Dunivin (Dunny) from Irvine, CA. Powered by a 1963 Corvette small-block 327ci engine with polished Offenhauser aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock carburetor, chrome air cleaner, polished GM alternator and water pump, polished and painted finned aluminum valve covers backed by a Turbo 350 automatic transmission with transmission cooler and a 9-inch Ford rear end, front disc vented brakes and chopped canvas roadster top with chrome frame. The windshield was chopped 3 inches, and there is a custom Burgundy interior. The car retains the original steel fenders, chrome front and rear bumpers, grille and stock Ford folding 25-louver hood, original cowl vent, factory door handles and pedals, and modified dash with VDO gauges. The car rides on polished Halibrand-style kidney wheels over a 4-link suspension with chrome 'Pete & Jakes' drop axle kit. Every component has either been painted, powder-coated, polished or plated.
