Ford Racing's black FR100 was originally introduced to the public at the2003 F100 Super Tour. Since then, this truck has appeared in several magazines and at several media drives across the country. This truck and its silver twin, introduced in at the 2002 SEMA Show, have been testing Ford Racing's performance parts for the past several years. This vehicle has been recently disassembled and renewed to its original show quality condition and sports the benefits of those testing results. Based on an original 1953 F-100, the truck was transformed into the FR100 with contemporary design touches and is powered by Ford Racing's hot 5.0 Liter Cammer Crate Engine. Extensive body modifications have been undertaken. The art of this procedure was to preserve the look and feel of the original truck. Even though every major panel except the hood and doors were extensively altered (the cab was extended by 6 inches and the bed shorted appropriately), the finished piece reflects the harmony of shape and style instilled by Ford designers half a century ago. Backing the Cammer crate engine are custom headers and a dual-exhaust system with two catalysts, a Cobra radiator, a Tremec T56 6-speed manual with a prototype Ford Racing/Centerforce clutch, and a custom aluminum-metal matrix drive shaft. Brembo disc brakes were added at each corner to stop the 18' BBS wheels and Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. Traditional appearance with state-of-the art technology.
