Details
This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette custom coupe began as an unfinished project by another builder before it was purchased by the current owner. The build was engineered by Joe Stuban of Stuban Concepts, and the finished project was featured in the May 2017 edition of Vette magazine. It is powered by a Street & Performance GM Corvette LS3 376/480hp V8 crate engine with EFI and coated custom headers. The engine is mated to a TREMEC 5-speed manual transmission with a McLeod 12-inch clutch and pressure plate. It features MagnaFlow performance mufflers, a Rock Valley stainless-steel 16-gallon tank and a Flaming River steering column. The chassis is an original GM OEM frame that has been refurbished and powder-coated with a semi-gloss topcoat. The front suspension is equipped with tubular upper and lower control arms, shock absorbers, a sway bar, ball joints, hub bearings and power rack close-ratio steering by Van Steel Corvette Performance, while the rear suspension is a GM OEM rear center section with 3.73 gears and posi-traction. It is equipped with QA1 coilover adjustable shock absorbers, GM hubs and bearings, aftermarket offset trailing arms and Van Steel sway bars. It is equipped with custom CNC taillights and turn signals, hood vents, a grille and custom-cut exhaust tips by Greening Automotive, along with custom fender scoops by Joe Stuban. Custom Glasurit paint was finished by Greening Automotive, along with the panel trim. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood 14-inch front power disc brakes with 6-piston calipers and 13-inch rear brakes with 4-piston calipers. This Corvette features Classic Instruments components and a Vintage Air system. It rides on Schott wheels with Kumho Ecsta Sport tires. The seats and dash were completed by M&M Hot Rod Interiors, and the design and renderings were completed by Eric Brockmeyer.
