LAS VEGAS – Aug. 28, 2019 – Following the success from the 2019 Northeast Auction, Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, will continue with the second offering from the desirable Vault Portfolio collection during the 12th Annual Las Vegas Auction, October 3-5, 2019, at the Mandalay Bay Casino and Resort. In total, 20 collector vehicles from the Vault Portfolio will cross the block, all with No Reserve, including highly coveted, professionally built customs.
“The Vault Portfolio at the Northeast Auction was incredibly well-received,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Vehicles from the collection that will be in Vegas represent some of the finest examples of customs crafted by talented builders like Frank Tetro and Bobby Alloway. We’ve helped fuel the demand of these incredible customs, which was recently demonstrated with the Historic Hot Rod Cover Cars class featured at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The Vault Portfolio will certainly help accelerate the passion for these beautiful customs.”
Lot #681 was selected as the NSRA Pro Pick in Tampa, FL. It also won a Winner’s Circle Award at the Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, OH.
Included in the Vault Portfolio is a breathtaking 1932 Ford Custom Convertible (Lot #681.1). Built in collaboration with Frank Tetro of Harbor Auto Restoration and Bobby Alloway of Alloway’s Rod Shop, it features a hand-designed fiberglass body and is powered by a Keasler Racing 502ci V8 engine. A 1932 Ford custom coupe (Lot #681) was also created by Harbor Auto Restorations. Built on a steel-framed 1932 Ford Model A, this Hot Rod is powered by a Chevy 502ci V8 big-block engine, paired to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission.
For collectors seeking a dose of classic West Coast cool, a concours-quality 1950 Chevrolet Woody Wagon (Lot #682) will also be crossing the block in Las Vegas. Powered by a Thriftmaster inline-6 engine paired to a 3-speed manual transmission, this wonderful Woody received a no-expense-spared, frame-off restoration over the last 10 years and has less than 50 miles on the odometer since completion.
A unique aspect of Lot #682 is the rear central taillight. As the tailgate lowers, the rear taillight rotates so that the vehicle can be driven with the tailgate down without compromising the rear signals.
“The hot-rodding culture has truly fueled the passion for modern custom car builds,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “Like a fingerprint, each build is unique, creating endless possibilities for creativity and advancement in the craft. This selection of the Vault Portfolio exemplifies the engineering and design put into each of these amazing machines and is sure to be a highlight at the auction.”
Other customs from the Vault Portfolio crossing the block in Las Vegas include a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette custom coupe (Lot #683). Finished in Tangelo Orange and powered by a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, this custom widebody Corvette has only 3,205 actual miles. Built for the 2015 SEMA Show, a brilliant purple 1970 Ford Thunderbird Custom Coupe (Lot #680.1) nicknamed “Thunderstruck” is powered by a Ford 429ci V8 engine and rides on adjustable-height air suspension.
