LOT #3005 – 2025 CHEVROLET CORVETTE ZR1 FIRST RETAIL PRODUCTION VIN 001 – NO RESERVE
Each and every Barrett-Jackson auction brings with it many levels of passion and excitement – but arguably the most profound and emotional moments happen during the sale of a vehicle benefiting a worthy cause. Whether you’re in the auction arena witnessing the action firsthand or watching from the comfort of your living room, we’re sure you’ll agree.
While Barrett-Jackson has philanthropy at its very roots, the idea of auctioning vehicles for charity didn’t officially begin until the 2006 Scottsdale Auction, with the $600,000 charity sale of the first 2007 Shelby GT500. Through this unique platform, the World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions has now helped raise over $156 million to date for causes large and small across the country. Because Barrett-Jackson always waives all auction fees and commissions, 100 percent of the hammer price goes directly to the charitable organization – the winning bidder writes a check directly to the charity.
At the 2025 Scottsdale Auction, the tradition continues in a big way. From incredible custom trucks and a classic Corvette to brand-new offerings from Chevrolet and Shelby American, five very special vehicles have been donated to help some amazing non-profit organizations.
A head-turning truck has been tapped to kick off the charity sales on Thursday, Jan. 23. The legendary automotive designer Chip Foose teamed up to craft a truly one-of-a-kind 2021 Ford F-150 custom pickup (Lot #3000), a masterpiece that turned heads at the 2024 SEMA Show. Powered by a 400hp 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission, this truck embodies Foose’s unmistakable design flair, featuring exclusive 22-inch Foose wheels with white hoops, bold orange accent stripes and a sleek gray center machine finish. The entire sale price of this pickup will go to The Progeria Research Foundation, a cause close to Foose’s heart.
On Friday, Jan. 24, a 1988 Chevrolet Corvette 35th Anniversary Edition (Lot #3003) from the collection of a longtime Barrett-Jackson customer and Corvette enthusiast, Dave Ressler, will make its way across the stage to raise funds for Barrett-Jackson’s Driven Hearts initiative for the American Heart Association (AHA). One of 2,050 35th Anniversary Corvettes produced, this low-mileage example is powered by a 245hp 5.7-liter V8 engine mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. This sale will no doubt bring back memories of when another Ressler 35th Anniversary Corvette kicked off the Driven Hearts campaign at the 2018 Scottsdale Auction, bringing in $350,000 for the AHA.
Another Friday charity sale will be a one-of-one Barrett-Jackson Edition Shelby Raptor R pickup (Lot #3002) to benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation and the African Parks Foundation of America. Designed in collaboration with Barrett-Jackson and based on the 2024 Shelby Ford F-150 Baja Raptor, this truck is built to impress with a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine delivering an optional 900+ horsepower. Its special Barrett-Jackson logos and design elements make it the only truck of its kind, and it wears a unique Shelby Serial number and is included in the official Shelby registry. Big bonus: also included in the sale is an exclusive guided safari in Rwanda, East Africa!
Get ready for some emotional moments with Super Saturday’s charity sales! Chevrolet will be selling the first retail production 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, VIN 001 (Lot #3005 shown at top), to benefit the American Red Cross. Under the hood of the ZR1 is a 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine dubbed the LT7, which produces 1,064hp at 7,000 rpm – the most power ever from a factory Corvette, and the most powerful V8 ever produced in America from an auto manufacturer.
Also heading across the block on Saturday will be an amazing custom 1962 Dodge Power Wagon (Lot #3004) named “Project S.W.E.A.T.” created to support Mike Rowe’s mikeroweWORKS Foundation. Read more about the Power Wagon here.
Barrett-Jackson is humbled by not only the generosity of the companies and individuals who donate the vehicles, but also by members of the incredible collector car community who don’t hesitate to bid from the heart and make a difference in so many lives.
