The first production of a limited run of just 60 in 2022 with 'King of the Road' packages to honor Shelby American's 60th anniversary, this GT500KR is powered by a 5.20-liter supercharged V8 engine mated to a TREMEC 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Based on the world-class Ford Shelby GT500, the KR boasts over 900hp, and has a dry carbon-fiber hood, new wheels, tires, suspension tuning, interior, badges and more. Only 180 total (60 per model year 2020-22) will be available in the U.S., with
another 45 overseas. Each car includes membership in Team Shelby, the worldwide club Carroll Shelby established in 2008, and will be documented in the official Shelby Registry. This is only the third time in history that a version of the Shelby GT500 has carried the 'King of the Road' name. The winning bidder will be able to choose from any standard Ford color available on this first-production Shelby GT500KR. The entire sale price of this vehicle will benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation and JDRF. The Carroll Shelby Foundation was created by legendary racer and automotive manufacturer Carroll Shelby. Headquartered in Gardena, California, the Foundation provides medical assistance for those in need, including children, as well as educational opportunities for young people through automotive and other training programs. JDRF is the world's largest nonprofit funder of type 1 diabetes research.
