In 2003, Ford increased the horsepower on the Thunderbird to 280hp with a 3.9-liter V8 engine with 5-speed automatic transmission. It features a large checkerboard grille and long tapered lines, comfortable, cozy embossed leather seats, a simple-designed dash and 180-watt 8-speaker audio system. Ford created a stir of excitement when they revived the Thunderbird roadster modeled in the style of the original 1955-57 model. The wheels have been redesigned and the classic porthole style window is incorporated into the removable hardtop. It's equipped with a front and rear anti-roll bar, front and rear vented disc brakes, and body-colored front and rear bumpers. It's a visually elegant car in the popular triple-black color combination.
