The year 1998 marked the last year of the 993 air-cooled Porsche 911 model. With only 1,201 cabriolets being built, they remain highly sought-after and are becoming harder to find. The 993 was much improved over, and quite different from its predecessor. According to Porsche, every part of the car was designed from the ground up, and only 20 percent of its parts were carried over. A major change was the implementation of an all-alloy multi-link rear suspension attached to an alloy subframe.

Other improvements included a new dual-flow exhaust system, larger brakes with drilled discs and a revised power steering. This 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet is finished in Classic Black with a black leather interior and black power top. It is powered by the 282hp air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-6 engine mated to a 4-speed Tiptronic transmission and limited-slip differential. It is equipped with many factory options, including air conditioning, aluminum gauges, 8-way electric power seats, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, automatic rear air control activator and power top. It rides on new 225/408/18 tires in the front and 285/35/18 Z-rated Michelin tires in the rear. The sound system has been upgraded to a remote-controlled Eclipse in-dash deck and 12-disc changer, with a Rockford Fosgate P4004 amp and Punch speaker system. The engine was recently completely rebuilt and upgraded by Frank's Automotive, the premier Porsche repair shop for over 50 years. A copy of the service and repair invoices along with the original owner's manuals are included. The glass, mirrors, dash, carpet and leather seats are in good condition. The hood and front bumper were refinished in 2010 to remove rock chips and the rear bumper was refinished in 2012 to remove shopping cart scratches.
