Details
The Mercedes 500E was developed as a high-performance sports sedan with Porsche and internally known as Porsche type 2758. They were hand-built at Porsche’s Zuffenhausen factory, where they would be shuttled back and forth between the Mercedes plant and Porsche’s famed Rossle Bau’s plant. Each unit took 18 days to complete. While 1,528 were produced for the U.S. market, this is one of only eight produced in Blue/Blau 272 leather for North America. This 500E boasts a 5.0-liter 32-valve 315hp V8
backed by an automatic transmission, and suspension tuned by Porsche with rear self-leveling hydraulic system. It has the upgraded Silver Arrow brake system, featuring 4-piston Brembo front calipers and 330mm cross-drilled rotors, with forged two-piece BBS AMG wheels. The car was purchased new on April 6, 1993 at Leiken Mercedes in Willoughby, OH, prior to coming to Florida. This Mercedes retains its original Window Sticker, service records, original manual in the leather-bound Mercedes booklet, first aid kit and original Becker radio (not installed). CARFAX shows Ohio damage report on 06/03/1993: Accident reported with another motor vehicle; and Florida damage report on 08/06/2010: Accident reported involving rear impact with another motor vehicle, vehicle functional.
