This 1974 De Tomaso Pantera has received a complete nut-and-bolt restoration, including improvements to enhance braking, cooling, performance and any issues that are associated with the original Pantera design. This is an all-steel car with GTS metal flares that have been cut and massaged to fit the 10-inch spoke wheels. It has a custom-design air-flow hood for significant cooling improvements, as well as lowered floor pans to make the car more spacious and allow for taller drivers. The attention to detail on this restoration is extensive from top to bottom. This Pantera is painted Ferrari Fly Yellow. It has a Ford 368CI dry-sump iron block NASCAR-derived engine with ported SVO heads, steel crank, with special valves and springs, roller rocker arms, 10.5:1 compression, Jet-coated tubular shorty headers, high-performance heavy-duty clutch, braided stainless-steel lines with aviation fittings, Tilton super starter, racing aluminum radiator with two 14-inch high-velocity fans, high-flow stainless-steel mufflers, ZF transmission, Kinsler EFI injection, upgraded half-shafts in the transaxle, all new wiring and harnesses, full custom leather interior, new Full Pro-Comp gauge package from AutoMeter. Vintage Air climate control system with modern components, all new stainless-steel brake lines matched up with Wilwood brakes (6-piston front, 4-piston rear) and tubular control arms. Le Mans-style 10-inch spoke alloy wheels (18x9-inch in the front and 19x13-inch in the rear). MOMO race steering wheel. Custom hidden sound system stereo with Kenwood head, high-output amplifier, pro speakers, subwoofer, radar and laser jamming, GPS, alarm theft-prevention components built-in. Power and tinted windows. The Pantera was designed by the Italian firm Ghia's American-born designer Tom Tjaarda. Unlike the Mangusta, which employed a steel backbone chassis, the Pantera's chassis was of a steel monocoque design, the first instance of De Tomaso using this construction technique. The Pantera logo included a T-shaped symbol, the brand used by De Tomaso's Argentinian cattle-ranching ancestors, as well as a version of the Argentinean flag turned on its side, inspired by the company's founder, Alejandro De Tomaso, who was born and raised in Argentina. The De Tomaso Pantera is a mid-engine sports car produced by Italian automobile manufacturer De Tomaso from 1971 to 1992. Italian for 'Panther,' the Pantera was the automaker's most popular model, with over 7,000 manufactured over its 20-year production run. More than three-quarters of the production was sold by American Lincoln-Mercury dealers from 1972 to 1975; after this agreement ended, De Tomaso kept manufacturing the car in ever smaller numbers into the early 1990s.
