Details

This custom 1972 Ford Bronco 4x4 started as a rust-free Bronco before it began a meticulous and documented nut-and-bolt frame-off restoration. It is powered by a new 408ci stroked 351 Windsor V8 engine mated to a C6 automatic transmission. The engine's internal modifications include an Eagle crank and rods, and forged icon pistons. An Edelbrock flat tappet cam featuring 290/300 duration 496/520 lift lets the engine breathe freely, while the COMP cams double-roller timing set and Melling

high-volume oil pump keep it running smoothly. For durability, a full ARP stud kit was utilized as well. Helping to supply the airflow needs of the massive small-block is a set of Ford Motorsport aluminum heads with 1.94 intake valves and 1.60 exhaust valves, 1.6 Scorpion pedestal-mount roller rockers and Edelbrock Victor Jr intake, all topped by a Quick Fuel Street Brawler 750 carburetor. An MSD distributor, 6AL high firebox and blaster II coil light the fire on the inside, while a 4-row radiator with electric fan keeps the whole package cool. Shifting comes by way of a Ford C6 automatic transmission with a shift kit and a Hughes 2200 stall convertor. Additional features include a Lokar LED shifter, oversized transmission pan and remote cooler with electric fan. Spent exhaust exits the engine through a set of Pypes 1-5/8 shorty headers mated to a 2.5-inch exhaust with single-chamber Flowmaster mufflers and H-pipe, which give it a throaty sound. Putting the power to the ground comes by way of the Dana 30 differential up front and a Ford 9-inch rear end with 4.10 gears and 31-spline axles outback. The chassis and suspension have benefitted from a few upgrades as well. The steering has been upgraded by WFO concepts with radius arm dropped brackets, 7-degree C bushings, Saginaw power steering with quick-ratio steering box. Ground clearance is provided by a 3.5-inch suspension lift kit, a 2-inch body lift, Bilstein reservoir shocks and a 23-gallon fuel cell. Mastercraft Courser MXT 35-inch tires on black 20x9 Metal Moto wheels add to the stance, while a front power disc brake setup with Wilwood master cylinder and booster provides the stopping power and AMP Research PowerSteps make entry into the Bronco a breeze. The exterior was finished in PPG yellow paint complemented by classic Bronco matte black stripes on the sides. To keep with the color scheme, a pair of black Halo LED headlights, black Gorilla flares, black chrome encased FORD grille emblem, black powder-coated 6-point roll cage with matching rollbar pads and LED light bar were all added. The newly tinted windows can be brought down with ease with black billet window cranks. New reclining front seats and back bench have been professionally upholstered by DC Customs in black, complemented by yellow Bentley-style double-diamond stitching and black carpet kit with custom floor mats. This is all complemented by a custom dash with a Dakota Digital white LED 6-gauge cluster, USB port and rocker panels for the overhead LED lights and exterior LED light bar. A new Flaming River tilt column with custom GT steering wheel and Lokar black billet pedals help with control on and off-road. The custom center console has a locking door and matching upholstered arm pad. The stereo system includes a Bluetooth/USB/CD Kenwood head unit connected to a hidden JL Audio 5-channel 500-watt amp that powers the four JL Audio speakers and 10-inch JL Audio subwoofer, all housed in custom-built panels, giving this ride killer sound with the top on or off. Bimini soft-top and build photos documenting the restoration and original speedometer are included. This well-executed custom Bronco has been turned into a modern-day classic, has less than 1,000 miles on the new engine since it was completed and comes out of the personal collection of Barrett-Jackson COO Nick Cardinale.
