Details

This custom 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer underwent an extensive frame-off, nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration, donning a custom badging of 'Build No. 26' for the process. Power comes from a brand-new fuel-injected BluePrint 350/346hp V8 crate engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission, along with a fully rebuilt and detailed NP205 4x4 transfer case. A detailed restoration process took place under the hood as well, including a new smooth firewall, CVF serpentine belt system, Cerakote Burnt Bronze headers, new 2.5-inch MagnaFlow exhaust and a brand-new American Autowire wiring harness, with most of the wiring hidden. It also features an all-new 5-inch lift with bushings and bolts, as well as a custom-built driveshaft with sandblasted 6-lug axles. With the chassis and body completely torn down, the chassis was powder-coated in Gloss Black. The body had rust repairs completed, was epoxy-primed and worked all the way through until it was finished in two-tone Exotic Sky Blue and Crème Brûlee, along with five layers of clearcoat. The body was wet-sanded and polished, and all-new bushings and hardware were used to mount it to the chassis. The inside of the body was then sprayed in a RAPTOR Liner to prevent sound/heat transfer, along with an additional layer of Kilmat used completely on the interior and inside the doors. The restoration also consisted of all-new smoked Euro Grey glass, rubber, felts, bumpers and grille shell, chrome and trim. The custom interior by Burton Upholstery is done in a traditional but retro style and features a blue-on-blue theme with Highlander inserts on the custom-bolstered seats, navy blue plush carpet and a color-matched center console. The interior also features a new Gen V Vintage Air system, a dash cluster equipped with a tachometer, a tilt column with a column shifter, Budnik steering wheel, a retro-style stereo and a 'Tailgate Party' seat in the rear with cup holders. This custom Blazer rolls on Fittipaldi wheels.
