Description
This 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4-wheel drive custom SUV underwent a 1-year complete frame-off restoration. The steel body has been refinished in Hugger Orange with a gloss black engine bay that houses a rebuilt 5.7-liter 350ci V8 engine backed by a rebuilt TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and NP205 dual-range transfer case. The engine is dressed with aluminum finned valve covers, oil filler cap, PCV valve and air cleaner for the vintage look. The new HEI distributor is accompanied by a rebuilt power steering pump and an all-new fuel pump, water pump, alternator, radiator, coolant overflow canister, and all hoses and vacuum lines. The engine bay is complete with an Optima red-top battery and fresh battery cables alongside custom-fabricated core and radiator filler panels. The dual exhaust consists of ceramic-coated long-tube headers with 12-inch glass packs and ends with 4-inch black powder-coated tips. The fuel system has been updated with a new gas tank, filler neck, sending unit, straps, gasket and filler cap. The front end includes new upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends and sleeves, and a drag link. A new brake booster, master cylinder and lines feed the new calipers and pads on the front disc brakes. Rear drum brakes have had all components replaced and new shoes installed. This Blazer sits on a 4-inch full spring Rough Country suspension lift. A set of 15-inch aluminum Mickey Thompson Classic wheels come wrapped in 35-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Boss rubber. The interior boasts custom black bucket and bench seats with matching Hugger Orange stitching and seat belts. The rear bench seat has been outfitted with a custom aircraft aluminum seat frame. Door panels are custom hand-carved, wood-grain leather with padded armrests. A black 4-point Motor City K5 roll bar was installed. The rear boasts a custom Ebonized Oak and stainless-steel bed with matching handmade fuel filler cover and driver and passenger side corner blocks. Sound-deadening was applied to the firewall and floors before placing all-new weatherstripping and molded black carpet kit. The door components are all new, including regulators, channel kits with tracks and guides, latch kits, new keyed entry with chrome handles, felts, lock actuators, cranks and handles. Interior comfort is handled by an Old Air Products climate-control system. The dashboard includes a new Vintage USA gauge cluster and Custom Auto Sound retro Bluetooth radio. The body, chassis and engine are wired with an American Autowire harness. A new black soft-top with tinted windows has been installed.
