Details
Finished in genuine Military Tan paint, this 1971 Safari Thing was originally restored and featured in Hot VWs magazine in 1991. It was left abandoned outside for 25 years until the current 2018 restoration. It is powered by a custom 1915cc engine mated to a Freeway Flyer 4-speed manual transmission. Equipped with a Progressive carburetor, Performance cam and a custom exhaust, it also features factory reduction boxes and the old bus-style taillights and a custom top with a cargo net, as well as
a mounted shovel and axe accentuating the desert off-road theme of the build. The interior features an all-weather marine stereo with Bluetooth as well as marine-grade speakers, a 12-volt power port and push-button ignition, new wiring harness and all-new gauges, including a VDO programmable speedometer with digital mileage, oil pressure gauge and a cylinder-head temperature gauge. The Hot VWs magazine issue is included with the sale
