1971 PLYMOUTH HEMI 'CUDA CUSTOM HARDTOP

This 1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda, nicknamed “Orangasm,” has undergone a major transformation into a complete custom. Powered by a 6.1-liter HEMI engine from Chrysler's SRT cars with a MagnaCharger kicking out over 600hp and backed by a TR6060 6-speed manual transmission this car is a strong runner. Once the body was squared up, the straightening was next with well-fitting panels. The car was then put on a rotisserie and sprayed with a custom mix of Sherwin-Williams Big Bad Orange and Gold Pearl. The

inside and underside of the car were painted to the same level as the body. Next came a tubular K-frame assembly from Magnum Force, with many components chromed for visual impact. Tubular control arms and coilovers replace the old torsion bar suspension. Out back is a 4-link setup attached to a Dana 60 rear axle. The transmission tunnel was dissected and enlarged in every dimension to accommodate the huge 6-speed transmission. With the engine and transmission in the car, attention was turned to wiring the HEMI and its components. Six individual wiring harnesses were integrated to operate a car with all of the modern conveniences. Extensive use of hand-laid fiberglass and carbon fiber sets this custom apart. It has a custom see-through hood with similar styling to the original Shaker hood scoop, carbon-fiber accents, full custom interior, LED lighting, aftermarket gauges and a custom stereo. This muscle car was awarded with Builder's Choice at Goodguys Lone Star Nationals in Texas 2016.
