Details

This 1971 Jeep Mail Carrier is a one-of-a-kind hot rod. Built in a professional shop to be a SEMA showpiece, this ride is a no-expense-spared piece of machinery. The Original U.S. Postal Service-issued Jeep has been highly modified to upgrade performance and drivability. Many body modifications, such as a drastically chopped top, a custom retractable cloth sunroof and smoothed firewall give this Jeep a low smooth look. It rides on a complete custom-built chassis that's highly detailed and

features a chrome tubular front suspension and a chrome bar setup rear suspension. Four-corner air-ride suspension allows the Jeep to lay practically flat on the ground for a sleek look. Powder-coated red Wilwood brake calipers and drilled rotors give the Jeep plenty of stopping power and are set behind the custom billet Intro wheels. Powering this hot rod is a highly chromed 383ci V8 Chevy engine with two 4-barrel carburetors backed by a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. To keep with its mail carrier roots, the right-hand-drive steering wheel position was retained. To do so, a custom right-hand-drive steering rack had to be custom-fabricated. Custom red seats, custom dash and gauges, and a chrome steering column with billet steering wheel are just a few additional interior features. An over-the-top Kicker stereo system with Bluetooth has also been installed. As highly modified as it is, the Jeep does retain some original features. The original sliding side doors and large swing-open rear door with giant Jeep embossed letters allow wide-open access to interior. The original grille was retained to keep the nostalgic Jeep appearance.
