This 1971 Ford Bronco custom SUV features a one-of-a-kind chromoly tube frame chassis that represents the year Parnelli Jones won his first Baja 1000 in the famed original Big Oly Bronco. The all-chromoly TIG-welded chassis is powder-coated. Everything on the vehicle is either polished, nickel-plated, anodized or 24-karat gold. It is powered by a 438ci 351W Dart Block Ford V8 engine producing 723hp, paired with an automatic transmission. Its modifications include Ross 11 to 1 competition pistons, Ford performance custom CNC heads, forged steel crank, H-beam rods, special ceramic-coated pistons, skirts, crank, rods, combustion chambers, valves and exhaust ports. It is equipped with a Peterson 5-stage dry sump pump system, K&N filter, Bassani custom stainless-steel exhaust system, Race Proven 180-amp alternator, COMP Cams solid-roller camshaft, FAST EFI throttle body, Holley Terminator X EFI system. Mike's Transmissions Powerglide transmission, Gear Vendors overdrive and a Winters gate shifter. The rear end features Dirt-Tech axle housing, Summers Brothers 40-spline 300M axles, Currie/Gearworks Trophy Truck third member, and a 10-inch polished 5.14 ring & pinion gear set. The interior features PRP seats and harnesses, AutoMeter gauges and Lowrance GPS. The exterior/bodywork and paint were completed by McNeil Racing. The front suspension is equipped with 24-karat gold-plated Sandco upper and lower A-arms, Bilstein Blackhawk shocks, Bilstein 2.5-inch coilovers and 2-inch bump stops, Hypercoil springs, PRP Limit straps and 24-inch wheel travel. The rear suspension is equipped with 24-karat gold-plated 4-link Dirt-Tech trailing arms, Bilstein Blackhawk shocks, Bilstein 2.5-inch coilovers and 2-inch bump stops, Hypercoil springs, PRP Limit straps and 31 inches of wheel travel. This vehicle has a custom one-off set of American Racing billet aluminum beadlock rims, along with 39-inch BFG Racing Baja T/A KR tires. It was a featured vehicle at the San Diego Automotive Museum for two years, as well as being the featured vehicle at the Petersen Automotive Museum in the main entrance for the 'Braving Baja - 1000 Miles to Glory Exhibit' from May 4, 2013, through September 2, 2013.
