Details
1970 was the pinnacle of performance from Oldsmobile. In order to keep up in the horsepower arms race, General motors dropped the engine size in 1970, and Oldsmobile responded by making the Olds 455 V8 the standard 442 engine. The revised body style and increased performance resulted in the 442 being awarded pace car duties at the Indianapolis 500 race in 1970. This Sherwood Green 442 convertible features the 455ci 4-barrel Ram Air engine mated to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. The original Build Sheet is included with the car. The rear is handled by a limited-slip 3.42:1 differential and front power disc brakes bring it all to a stop. The deluxe interior is finished in Parchment with bucket seats, original GM seatbelts, white power convertible top, remote mirror, AM/FM radio and a sport steering wheel. It rides on SSI wheels shod in Goodyear wide oval tires and is equipped with dual exhaust. This 442 is an older restoration.
