A true Pro-Touring custom, this 1970 Chevelle convertible underwent a complete nut-and-bolt frame-off restoration and was built on a new full Schwartz chassis. It was professionally restored and updated with a new Chevrolet Performance Connect & Cruise kit powered by a 6.2-liter GM LT1 engine mated to a manual 6-speed TREMEC transmission. A new McLeod hydraulic clutch with McLeod short shifter sends torque via a custom aluminum driveshaft to the 3.73 geared rear end. Assisting the custom
chassis's handling comes by way of RideTech coilover shocks. Steering is navigated through a power rack & pinion setup, and stopping is tasked to the 4-wheel big brake and Wilwood master cylinder kit with new brake lines and power booster. Engine cooling is handled by a new Be Cool aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. An all-new custom stainless steel fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel pump and pressure regulator help feed the LT1 V8. Inside, you'll find a custom black-and-red interior that includes custom SS power seats, a 3-spoke billet steering wheel and a tilt steering column. Additional modern upgrades include power windows, power locks, LED lighted door panels, Billet Specialties door handles, USB charging ports and a custom dash with Dakota Digital VHX gauges. A new Vintage Air system keeps the cockpit temp in check with the top up or down. The Retro stereo features an AM/FM/Bluetooth head unit with four Memphis Audio cabin speakers and a VIPER alarm. An American Autowire wiring harness was used to support all of the new powered technology with an Optima battery and safety kill switch located in the trunk. Outside, the goal was to keep the car's body lines as close to original as possible, but this high-quality restoration spared no expense with subtle modifications, such as tightened bumpers painted to match the body, billet hood hinges, custom SS badging, new windshield, weatherstripping, custom headlights and smoked taillights. It is finished with high-gloss black PPG paint accented by SS-style red stripes along the hood and decklid. Ringbrothers billet door handles and side mirrors were added along with a set of custom black-and-chrome 20-inch US Mags Rambler wheels wrapped in Nitto Invo tires. The entire top was replaced with a new power top setup, including shocks, hydraulic lines and motor along with a black Stayfast convertible top. Less than 1,500 miles on this well-executed Resto-Mod.
