1970 saw the birth of the Chevelle SS454 LS6, the largest-displacement and most powerful Chevrolet muscle car ever built to that time and the enduring champion of the muscle-car wars. One of the most impressive combinations of the era, the 1970 Chevelle and the LS6 engine, with the factory underrated at 450hp, were a marriage made in muscle-car heaven. High-lift, high-duration solid-lifter cam, an 800 CFM Holley 4-barrel on an aluminum dual-plane intake manifold, and gargantuan intake and exhaust valves in high-flow heads. The quality of this 1970 Chevelle convertible is exceptional with upgrades to LS6 specifications. Professionally restored by Car Connection in Waco, TX, it is correctly finished in beautiful correct Black Cherry with white SS stripes, an Ivory bucket seat interior and a power-operated white soft-top. The car was built at the Baltimore assembly plant and equipped with a Muncie M22 Rock Crusher 4-speed, 3.31:1 posi-traction differential, power steering and front disc brakes, F41 special performance suspension, a cowl induction hood with hood pins, Soft Ray tinted glass, center console and Super Sport wheels with white letter Goodyear Polyglas tires. A tilt steering column and AM/FM stereo were added during the car's restoration.
