Details

This 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 fastback is one of 857 cars built. It was created as a homologation special to qualify the new 429ci 'semi-HEMI' engine for NASCAR competition. The Boss 429 was specially modified and hand-built on May 8, 1969, by Ford's outside racing and special projects contractor, Kar Kraft of Brighton, MI, and delivered to Don Shirk Ford upon completion. This 429 Boss, powered by a matching-numbers 820-T 429ci engine, incorporates a remote engine-oil cooler, heavy-duty

Toploader close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission, 3.91 Traction-Lok differential, power front disc brakes, competition suspension with front and rear anti-roll bars and staggered rear shocks, a trunk-mounted battery, chromed 15” Magnum 500 wheels and Goodyear Polyglas F60-15 tires. The Deluxe Décor interior further boasts the original black seats, console, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, front spoiler and color-keyed racing mirrors. It's a highly original car with a single professional repaint in the original Wimbledon White, and KK No. 1785. This car maintains its original matching-numbers drivetrain and many original parts and components. This 429 Boss has been a consistent leading scorer in concours events, including three SAAC awards, and is documented with a Deluxe Marti Report. It was subject to a concours detailing with assistance from expert concours judge, Ed Meyer, and has been inspected and verified by well-known performance Ford and Mustang specialist, Jim Wicks. Formerly part of the Robert Watson collection, this Boss 429 has been kept in a museum-like setting by the current owner and is roadworthy.
