Details
This custom 1969 Ford Bronco off-road SUV is built with modern upgrades to improve reliability, power and drivability. Power comes from a built 302ci small-block V8 engine with Edelbrock aluminum heads, MSD electronic ignition and Edelbrock Pro-Flo electronic fuel injection. A Toms Offroad Bronco HD radiator and shroud keep the engine cool. Power is backed by a heavy-duty NV4500 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive and an ATLAS II transfer case. Both driveshafts were custom-made and
balanced. The front differential is a Dana 44 with ARB air locker, while the rear is a Ford 9-inch with reversed pumpkin, posi-traction and a 4.56 gear with Currie heavy-duty axles. Eight Rancho RS5000 shocks have been installed. This Bronco has a heavy-duty front sway bar with quick release for extra capability off-roading. It has power steering and extra-beefy tie rods, while the rear suspension is equipped with traction bars. Stopping is provided by 4-wheel power disc brakes. This Bronco rolls on Mickey Thompson tires mounted on MRW beadlock rims. This project started with an original Bronco with matching frame and body VIN. The steel tub was modified to accept the suspension upgrades and larger tires. A fiberglass cowl hood and front fenders were installed with larger wheel openings. Flares were added front and back. The front and rear custom steel bumpers were fabricated. The rear of the vehicle can accommodate a removable swing-away tire carrier that is not currently installed but is included in the sale. The vehicle is also equipped with a Warn 9500-pound winch and PIAA front lights. This Bronco includes two tops: a complete Bestop soft-top with full doors and a bikini top. The doors have zip-down or fully removeable window section to make them half-doors. The exterior is finished in show-quality black paint. The interior is fitted with MasterCraft bucket seats and rear bench, with three-point safety belts up front and two-point harnesses in the rear. A roll bar was added for extra safety. An all-new wiring harness was installed with Dakota Digital and AutoMeter gauges. A Kenwood CD player is hidden inside the Tuffy lockable console and has a 'Beat Box' roll bar-mounted speaker box with map lights. The rearview mirror has an electronic compass. It also features a custom steering column with tilt. An under-dash heater was installed and the whole interior floor has been coated with a protective textured liner. This Bronco also has a shower hookup by the winch with quick-release nozzles. The water is heated by a thermal heat exchanger and has a pressure pump and switch mounted under the hood. It has approximately 7,800 miles since build completion.
