Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 is powered by a matching-numbers 396ci V8 engine paired with a factory rebuilt Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. This Butternut Yellow example graced the front cover of Muscle Car Review magazine in April 2014 and underwent an older meticulous full-frame-off build by Dan's Bodyworks in Puyallup, WA. The original factory L34 396ci V8 engine was rebuilt by Britco Racing Engines to have factory looks on the outside but underwent some internal upgrades. The factory block was machined to all dimensions of factory specifications and then installed an L78 forged crank, SCAT rods and an Erson hydraulic roller cam. The original cylinder heads were fitted with L78-spec valves and COMP Cams roller rockers, and the factory 4-barrel QUADRAJet carburetor was rebuilt and refinished to look new. At the time of the engine build, the factory original Muncie M20 wide-ratio 4-speed transmission was rebuilt and freshly painted. The 12-bolt rear end was rebuilt to the original 4.11 gears. It is equipped with NOS cowl induction, and rides on 14x7-inch standard painted wheels with chrome dog-dish caps wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas tires. Also equipped with a non-OEM trim tag, however the original trim tag comes with the sale of the car. Several original ownership documents accompany the sale, such as the Protect-O-Plate, the original owner's manual and a broadcast sheet is also included.
