Description

Summary

1969 Bugetta Dune Buggy built turnkey by Eisert Racing Enterprises under the Bugetta Inc name. Powered by a 2.7-liter 6-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transaxle.

Details

This 1969 Bugetta Dune Buggy was built turnkey by Jerry Eisert, a well-known Indy car builder. The Bugetta was built exactly like his Indy cars and featured aircraft monocoque construction inclusive or aluminum panels, riveted to a steel chassis. This dune buggy was restored in the 1980s, was driven sparingly and was primarily displayed at car shows, with less than 400 miles since restoration. The Bugetta features a completely self-contained chassis, so the buggy is drivable without the body. This buggy does not have any Volkswagen parts and is a complete show-quality renovation. Powering this buggy is a 1969 Corvair flat 6-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed GM manual transaxle. The engine was rebuilt and balanced using forged pistons and moly rings, an Isky street cam, new valves, bearings, a new crank, a Petroniix ignition, a new clutch and Clark's jet-coated ceramic headers. The buggy features full-sized GM disc brakes on the front, mounted to an Eisert-built coilover A-arm front suspension, with a rack & pinion steering, a hydraulic clutch, CNC pedal cluster, dual side fuel tanks and vintage Anson sprint wheels. Almost everything on the chassis has been chromed, powder-coated or painted new. The exterior color is PPG Burgundy Red Prismetique. This older bumper-to-bumper restoration is highly detailed, including all new upholstery, Moon gauges, an auxiliary oil cooler and stainless-steel hardware throughout.
