Details

One of 404 built (214 were 4-speeds), this 1968 Shelby GT350 convertible is powered by a J-code 302ci V8 engine mated to a 4-speed transmission. Shipped to Koons Ford (Falls Church, VA) on May 23, 1968, sold on June 6, 1968. Options include power steering, power disc brakes, black convertible power top, Lucas driving lights, tilt-away steering column and deluxe black interior. Purchased in 2016 from long-term owner, who purchased it in 1975. This Shelby has 79,000 miles (the title reads mileage exempt). Complete owner history included in the documentation. A concours restoration was completed in 2000 by MCA/SAAC National Judges. Shown between 2000 and 2011, earning multiple Concours Gold awards at MCA/SAAC National events. Complete refresh and update finished in 2021, including new paint by Brown's Auto Body, re-detail of the undercarriage, interior and engine bay to bring it to current concours standards. Re-restoration was performed by the owner, Charles Turner, former Mustang Club of America National Head Judge and the current SAAC National Head Judge. After the recent re-restoration, #2152 achieved a Concours Gold award at an MCA National Show in September 2021. A high percentage of parts used for the first restoration in 2000 were original or NOS Ford. The second restoration improved upon that and included parts like a Scott Fuller exhaust. All components received rebuilding or re-detailing. All-new brake components, including rebuilt booster, new master cylinder, proportioning valve, wheel cylinders, concours-correct hoses and rebuilt calipers. A new set of five Goodyear E70x15 tires were installed on Kelsey-Hayes 15-inch wheels with correct freshly restored Shelby wheel covers. Additionally, it features the rebuilt original Holley carburetor, new gas tank and rubber fuel hoses. Less than 200 miles driven between first and second restorations. Extensive documentation and restoration photos included.
