This custom 1968 Ford F-250 pickup was originally 2-wheel drive but has been converted to 4-wheel drive using a 1978 F-250 donor. The conversion employed a 1978 column and Dana 60s, while preserving the original 1968 frame VIN stamp. The heart of this beast is a 460ci engine that contains a D1VE-A2B block and D3VE-A2A heads, bolstered by a new Edelbrock Performer intake, a 2YABC crankshaft and Crane Cams Energizer rocker arms. The COMP Cams 34-234-4 Xtreme Energy hydraulic flat-tappet camshaft and COMP Cams 832-16 high-energy hydraulic lifters lend remarkable performance. Duraspark ignition control and an 8-quart Moroso oil pan support the engine operations, while a Holley-style 4150, 4776-2 double-pumper carburetor manages fuel delivery. It is equipped with a 4-speed NP435 transmission and an NP205 transfer case with a 1.95 ratio. The transmission has been rebuilt with a Centerforce billet flywheel and a new ring gear. Also added were a new McLeod clutch and a new trans mount. The transfer case has been refurbished with new gaskets, seals and bearings, as well as a new side mount bushing. The front axle, a Dana 60 Snow Fighter 610023-2 high-pinion, employs an open-knuckle 3.54 Reverse, 35-spline and a 10-inch gear. The rear axle is a standard Dana 60 602911-5 with a 3.54 ratio. A comprehensive overhaul of the engine included removal, disassembly, cleaning, inspection and refitting with new gaskets and seals all around, including the rear main. The engine now gleams with POR15 engine enamel in Corporate Blue, with new cam bearings, a new cam and lifters, and new plug wires and coil. The cooling system received a new radiator shroud, an aluminum radiator, new upper and lower radiator hoses, and fresh coolant. Additional upgrades include a new power steering pump, a fresh oil change, a new F25 gas tank and a carburetor that has been freshly rebuilt. The vehicle's exhaust system received attention, with manifolds media-blasted and coated in Cerakote Glacier Silver. V-band clamps were added, and the exhaust finished with VHT high-temp coating. Brakes and bearings have been completely overhauled with new calipers, wheel cylinders, shoes, pads, rotors and drums. New hub bearings and seals were installed all around, along with a new master cylinder, a new dual booster and a new prop valve. New Bilstein shocks (5100 up front, 5125 in rear) and a new Rancho RS7MT steering stabilizer enhance the suspension, while the exterior received corrective paintwork and new West Coast Jr mirrors. The interior saw a gauge cluster refurbishment, a new dash pad, reconditioned shift knobs, a reupholstered seat and a new carpet kit. Additionally, new ABS headliner, new floor mats and a new firewall insulation pad add to the comfort inside the vehicle. The wheels are coated in Wimbledon White 2K urethane and mounted with new Falken WildPeak MT tires, sized 255/85-16. Lastly, there are some final touches, such as AMP Research automated steps, a bed liner update with Rhino, new upper side trim molding and period-correct hubcaps.
