1966 FORD MUSTANG CUSTOM FASTBACK

Details

This 1966 Mustang was created and hand-built to be a Pro-Touring driver with late-model luxury and performance. The body of the car was restored and modified for tight panel gaps and accurate body lines, and was finished in a 2015 Mustang shade of Cranberry Red with a Pewter engine compartment. A complete subframe and 10-point roll cage was incorporated into the body structure for safety and comfort. The inner structure was modified to feature 3” wider wheel tubs, rear seat bulkhead, modified

front floor pans and raised transmission tunnel for engine/transmission fit and alignment. A rotisserie was used for paint and undercarriage preparation. The restoration and modification theme continued into the black with gray accent interior which features an Ididit tilt column, Flaming River steering wheel, 6-gauge Silver Series Classic Instruments gauges, power driver’s seat with lumbar support, custom rear seats and American Autowire 22-circuit panel incorporating custom installation, and Dynamat used throughout. A Vintage Air Sure Fit system was installed for air conditioning and heat. For safety, 3-point retractable front seatbelts and rear lapbelts were installed. The custom Auto Sound head unit is enhanced with an amplifier and four speakers. The 325hp 302ci 8-cylinder engine that powers this beautiful Mustang is mated to a Ford M5R2 5-speed manual transmission. Edelbrock, COMP Cams, ARP, Melling and Center Force components were used in the build. The custom fuel system features a FiTech EFI unit, Aeromotive in-tank fuel pump and custom stainless fuel lines. The suspension is comprised of an M-II-based setup in front using QA1 coilovers, tubular lower A-arms and power steering, and custom triangle 4-bar, Art Morrison coilovers and narrowed 9” housing with 3.55 gears and Trak-Loc in the rear. The brake system uses Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners, CPP power booster and custom stainless brake lines. A set of E-T Classic V 15” wheels with custom flat center caps and BFGoodrich tires complete the look of this fastback.
