If bigger is better, then this 'Heavy Chevy' '66 427cid Impala convertible is one of the coolest machines around. Teasing the public in 1965, Chevrolet introduced the big block 396cid engine options in either 325 and 427hp. This clearly intrigued Chevy fans and while the 396 was again the hot engine option for the all new styled 1966, it was not enough for some. The fact was that many of these power thirsty buyers, longed to see the 427cid Corvette engine under the hood of their big Chevys. This '66 is one such 427-motivated machine rated at 425hp and backed by a big 400 Turbo Hydro transmission and 12-bolt Posi-traction rear end. Draped in stunning black paint, this is a super clean, super fast way to enjoy fast convertible cruising. The new black paint replaces the original burgundy coloration however the new black top and freshened black vinyl interior are correct for this vehicle. The engine bay has been nicely restored to the original condition. 1966 was the first year of the 427 in the Impala and this is a very rare numbers matching convertible. Very few 427 convertibles exist and this one comes with copies of its original invoice, order sales sheet and Protect-O-Plate from Courtesy Chevrolet. As a final touch, this amazing Chevy is equipped with custom wheels and performance tires designed to match the '60s motif.
