This Ford Galaxie 500 drag car is an AFX lightweight re-creation powered by a 427ci engine topped with dual-quad carburetors and backed by a 4-speed manual Toploader transmission, and is equipped with a 9-inch Ford rear end, 5:13:1 gears and factory-style traction bar. The Galaxie was built to re-create the 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 Romy Hammes car, 'The Lively One,' driven by Dick Brannon in 1963. Restored by Jim Fairbarn in Wisconsin, this car features a lightweight body with fiberglass parts and is finished in Wimbledon White, with hand-painted lettering over a red interior.
