Details
At the end of World War II, George Mason, president of Nash-Kelvinator, saw the new beginnings of a booming postwar economy and a high demand for consumer goods. With the new partnership of Hudson Motor Company with Nash-Kelvinator, American Motors was formed in 1954. Mason wanted to produce a car that would be obtainable for all. His focus was the suburban housewife who would need a second car to shop and transport the family during the days while the husband was at work. This concept was a success. This completely restored Metropolitan was a lifelong California car that was rust-free. With the great color combination of turquoise and white, this little charmer with all its chrome dazzles every passerby. It proves that great things do come in small packages. This car was on display at the Shanghai Automotive Museum in China from 2011 through 2015.
