Description

Summary

This 1959 Cushman Eagle Scooter is finished in pearlescent silver and is powered by a 21ci single-cylinder engine mated to a 2-speed manual transmission. From the Larry Winkler Collection.

Details

The Cushman Eagle was by far the most desirable scooter in the U.S. in the 1950s. It was designed to mimic the design hallmarks of the big American motorcycles of the day built by Harley-Davidson and Indian. This example is finished in pearlescent silver and is powered by a 21ci single-cylinder engine mated to a 2-speed manual transmission. The Cushman Eagle is almost certainly the company's most famous model, largely thanks to its memorable design and the desirability it enjoyed among the country's teenagers (and many adults). From the Larry Winkler Collection.
