Details

This 1959 Corvette roadster/convertible Resto-Mod is a complete rolling chassis built by SEMA Hall of Famer Art Morrison with features that include a late-model C5 Corvette front suspension with rack & pinion power steering. Ford 9' 3:70 ratio center section and axles by Strange Engineering are all nestled into a narrowed 4-bar linked housing. All four corners have adjustable coilover shocks by Strange Engineering. The complete undercarriage is powder-coated, and meticulously assembled and

detailed. The brake system is all Wilwood, featuring a Billet master cylinder, and 13' vented and drilled rotors with 6-piston calipers on the front and large 4-piston calipers on the rear. This professionally built roadster handles the curves and the highways with fantastic agility and precision. The Chevy 4-bolt 350 is bored.060 over and has coated forged pistons. The complete billet roller camshaft and rocker assemblies are by COMP Cams. The aluminum high-flow heads were supplied by Brodix and have the optional stainless valves. The headers and complete exhaust system are ceramic-coated. The GM Rochester mechanical fuel injection intake system is from the 1963-65 Corvette era, and adds a very nostalgic look and feel to the engine compartment. This FI unit has even been polished and complements the also rare matching valve covers. The shifting chores are handled by a manual 5-speed close-ratio Tremec TKO 600 transmission, which is bolted to a Lakewood Steel bell housing. The shift-pattern plate on the console has been updated to the 5-speed pattern. The exterior is painted in a two-tone BMW Titanium paint scheme and is deep and rich. All the chrome and stainless have been done to show-quality standards; the new black retractable top is perfect. The interior features soft NAPA two-tone leather and memory-foam backing for that new-car feel and comfort. All of the instruments have been restored and calibrated, and look showroom-fresh. Even the original clock keeps perfect time, and the odometer is correct, showing the less than 300 miles since the car was completed. This is truly a driver's car.
