Details
This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop is a representation of the 'one-year-only' body style and was a recipient of a full body-off restoration by Snodgrass Chevy Restoration. Power is provided by the 283ci V8 engine with dual 4-barrel carburetion, featuring the correct Batwing air cleaner, producing a healthy dose of usable horsepower. This small block V8 engine is connected to a 3-speed manual transmission. During the restoration, the body was stripped to the bare metal and repainted in deep gloss code 802 Matador Red, while the underside was correctly finished as it was on the assembly line in 1957. The bodywork accentuates the chrome molding and trim, which is all complete. Also, the spinner hubcaps look just right with the wide whitewall tires. The two-tone red-and-gray interior is optioned with a deluxe steering wheel, heater, defroster, push-button radio and chrome fender-mounted antenna. From the George Shinn Collection.
