Details
This Bel Air hardtop was built at Chevrolet's Oakland, CA, assembly plant. It came from the factory with the 283/270hp dual-quad carbureted engine and 3-speed close-ratio manual transmission. A meticulous frame-off restoration was done several years ago. The car was completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal. The body was metal finished and the car now fits much better than it ever did in 1957. Once prepared, the body was given a fresh coat of Onyx Black, using only the best of
materials. Likewise, the interior was completely redone and restored to the original condition. All instruments and gauges were checked for operation and repaired or replaced, if necessary. The frame was also completely disassembled and stripped. All chassis components were replaced and/or refinished in the original factory finishes. All bushings and other moving chassis parts were replaced, as was the brake system. No stone was left unturned and the engine was completely rebuilt. The block and all components were checked and replaced where needed. Once completed, the entire assembly was given a fresh coat of Chevrolet Engine Orange and reinstalled in the vehicle. This car has been shown at numerous Chevrolet and AACA events. In 2012, it was awarded the coveted Senior Grand National Award by the Antique Automobile Club of America.
