Details
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible is the recipient of an extensive 2-year restoration. It is powered by a new fuel-injected 383ci crate stroker engine with aluminum heads and a serpentine pulley system. This power plant is coupled with a custom 4-speed automatic transmission and exhales through a custom 2.5-inch Corvette exhaust. The entire original suspension was removed and replaced, front to back. The sub-frame assembly includes many upgrades, such as independent front suspension with
power rack & pinion steering, a custom Flaming River chrome tilt Bel Air steering wheel, billet lower control arms and 4-link rear suspension. The car is equipped with power 4-wheel 4-piston disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. Additional custom options include custom Corvette rear suspension, custom-fabricated CND Hot Rod Road Hugger Art Morrison frame and a Griffin aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. It rolls on custom Cragar-style 5-spoke 17-inch wheels retrofitted for the Bel Air. This car is professionally finished in Torch Red and Cameo White two-stage PPG exterior paint, along multiple layers of clearcoat over the top. All the chrome emblems, bumpers and script components were removed and triple-dipped for a perfect chrome finish. The Haartz convertible top and leather boot were custom-made to contrast the interior. It is also equipped with vintage-style modern air conditioning, power windows, power steering, a power top and Rain Gear intermittent wipers with a new American Autowire wiring kit. The all-new designer Italian leather interior features a custom stereo system with center console controls, Classic Instruments digital gauges, a handheld remote with Bluetooth, and custom speakers and subwoofers hidden from front to back. The Bel Air comes with binders of parts manuals used for the build. Just over 200 miles since the build completion in 2023.
