Description
The Futuramic Model 98 was the first to introduce the 'new' Rocket 88 engine. The engine was 302ci in displacement with an output of 135bhp. It was considered the Hot Rod of its day. To show off its new Rocket V8 power plant, the factory produced a limited number of hoods with Plexiglas inserts. These units were made available to dealers and did turn a few heads in Oldsmobile dealerships across the country. The Futuramic Model 98 package included a rear center seat armrest, front and rear floor mats, special chrome body moldings, electric clock, DeLuxe steering wheel, stainless-steel wheel trim rings and hydraulic windows, and seat and convertible top controls. The car was previously on display at the Shanghai Auto Museum.
