Details
Purchased from a museum by the current owner over 14 years ago, this Military 1943 Ford Jeep has been completely restored to the original standards. Since its restoration, it has been driven 76 miles mainly to car shows and military exhibitions. Powered by the standard 134ci 4-cylinder engine backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. It was outfitted for a general's transportation during World War II, and in this case, that of George S Patten - one of the US's most remarkable and controversial military leaders. Included are a 30 caliber machine gun with the firing mechanism disabled, shovel, ax, rear-mounted spare tire, fuel canister, blackout headlamps, four-star license plate (representing the rank that was later bestowed on General Patten in 1945), and even a life-sized mannequin of 'old blood and guts' himself, in field uniform.
