Details
This 1940 LaSalle Series 52 Special convertible is powered by the Cadillac/Oldsmobile-derived 322/130hp L-head V8 engine with Carter 2-barrel carburetion, a 3-speed manual transmission and 4-wheel hydraulic brakes. This 'torpedo-bodied' coupe convertible features the LaSalle's trademark narrow grille and is flanked by vertical accents in the lower 'catwalk' areas. It also features sealed-beam units integrated into the front fenders. Chassis No. 4333040 was the recipient of a no-expense-spared restoration and was winner of the AACA's National Senior First Prize. The exterior is finished in Homer Gray Iridescent paint over a red leather interior, as well as a black vacuum-operated soft-top with red piping. It rides on red-painted wheels decorated with bright trim and fitted with wide whitewall tires. From the Don Williams Collection.
