Description

Summary

One-of-a-kind. Boyd Coddington's work-in-progress when he passed away. Completed in consultation with his family. Equipped with an 8-cylinder LS engine, automatic transmission, custom suspension and a removable top. Titled as a Coupe.

Details

The sister to Boyd Coddington's iconic '40 Ford coupe, this is the one-of-a-kind Club coupe he was building at the time of his death. This car was finished by Hot Rod Investments of Arizona in conjunction with Boyd's wife Jo and his sons Boyd Jr. and Chris. The restoration finish was exactly like Boyd had designed. This final build took into consideration all of Boyd's experience, creativity and the 'Boyd look.' Starting with a hand-formed aluminum single-piece removable hardtop created by the

legendary Marcel Delay and Sons, it has numerous body modifications, including a custom-boxed chassis, Heidts double A-arm chrome IFS with chrome coilovers, Corvette-based IRS with quad-chrome coilovers, power rack & pinion steering, aluminum fuel cell and chrome disc brakes. Additional body modifications included new floor pan, new firewall, shaved handles, lowered windshield and frenched headlights. The power comes from an 8-cylinder LS engine producing 430hp with an cathedral-port intake manifold, 102mm throttle body and ceramic-coated headers mated to a 4L60E automatic transmission. The engine bay is finished with a Griffin dual-fan aluminum radiator, polished aluminum serpentine system and all-chromed components. The interior features all-leather upholstery, including an embroidered Boyd signature on the back wall of the trunk and on the side door panels, custom dash, Dakota Digital instruments, tilt column and an Alpine Bluetooth receiver that is USB/satellite-ready. The ride is comforted with Gen II Vintage Air, Mercedes-Benz carpeting, LED courtesy lights, power windows and remote-operated doors. Finishes include legendary Boyd Black Cromax Chroma base paint system and the famous original Boyd Coddington 17-inch billet wheels complete with Boyd signature center caps, each of which are no longer produced. **TITLED AS A COUPE**
