Details
This custom 1937 Ford Cabriolet was built by Blewett's Rod shop for Ron Hassel. The power comes from a Corvette 5.7-liter LSI engine with a jet high-performance computer chip mated to a GM 4L60E automatic transmission with a remote cooler. Underneath this custom build you will find a Downs chassis, with rear frame rails being stepped in 6 inches, a Blewett's custom 2.5-inch exhaust that is ceramic-coated by Performance Coatings and a polished stainless steel 4-link suspension with Panhard bar
holding a Ford 9-inch rear differential equipped with 3.55-ratio gears. Other parts include polished stainless-steel Borgeson joints and shafts, a Griffin aluminum radiator, aluminum driveshaft, MSD ignition wires, and Street & Performance chrome brackets and accessories throughout. For suspension, you will find Heidts polished stainless-steel upper and lower control arms, chrome shocks in the front and rear, chrome Heidts 2-inch drop spindles and Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners. The car features air-ride technology with a 7-inch adjustment while riding on Budnik billet wheels. It is finished in a bright red custom paint with a Mercedes cloth convertible top and tan leather interior by Paul Atkins. Inside you will find a chrome Ididit steering column topped with a Budnik billet steering wheel, as well as Lexus power seats, an Alpine stereo with a 12-disc CD changer, Boston Acoustic speakers paired with an Alpine amp, a Vintage Air system and a Dakota Digital dash. The 1937 Ford convertible body was given a 2-inch chop. In the rear, the taillights have been flush-mounted, and the rear pan has been lowered 1.5 inches with the license plate recessed into it. Other features include a chrome 72-tooth Don's Hot Rod grille, power doors, power windows and a power decklid. This car was first brought out at the 1999 Goodguys show in Charlotte, NC, and has been featured in Hot Rod magazines, as well as in ads. The vehicle comes with maintenance and build receipts. **TITLED AS 2023 ASPT**
