1932 Ford Hi-Boy Custom Roadster with an all-steel Dearborn Deuce custom build. This vehicle was the July 2006 Rod & Custom magazine cover car. It is powered by an 8BA Flathead V8 engine, and features a fully smoothed and painted engine block. It is topped with polished Offenhauser heads and intake manifold, and has dual Stromberg carburetors. The exhaust flows through custom headers. The Flathead is mated to a T5 5-speed manual transmission. The Ford 9-inch rear end is on a polished stainless
4-bar suspension with Aldan coilover shocks. The front suspension is a chromed Pate & Jakes 4-inch drop I-beam axle hung on polished stainless hairpins with a Posies Super Slide spring. Behind the solid front wheels are a pair of fully polished So Cal Buick-style finned drums, which hide a complete disc brake system. It is a traditional-looking '32 Ford Hi-Boy with the added benefit of a folding convertible top that stows under a steel tonneau. The exterior is finished in PPG custom-mixed Greek Bronze with custom striping, and the body panels were regapped for sharper lines. The interior is finished in Egg White and is replete in leather. It features custom-sewn German square-weave carpets, functioning vintage heater, restored 1934 Plymouth gauge cluster and is steered by a Juliano '39 banjo wheel on top of an Ididit tilt column. The undercarriage is also painted and detailed.
