Details
This custom 1969 Camaro is a street legal tribute to the race car that Penske built and Mark Donohue raced. This re-creation started as a rust-free SCCA race car from southern Colorado. There were three 'White' cars purchased by Penske from Chevrolet that did not come with VINs to build Donohue's iconic car. This car follows suit and has an ID number issued by the state of Colorado, not an actual '69 VIN plate. Modern upgrades included coilover shocks and modern electrical gauges, high-back seats with 4-point harnessed and electric cooling fans. The 435ci V8 engine is a replica of the classic 302 Cross Ram but updated to a Dart block with a stroker crank. This engine makes approximately 550hp on pump gas and is paired to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter turning a 12-bolt 3.73 posi-traction rear end. This Camaro rides on 17-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels with correct 4-piston front and single-piston rear brakes for stopping power.
