During the 1970s, famed "King of the Kustomizers" George Barris designed and built a succession of wild, custom-themed golf carts for the era's most famous entertainers and musicians. For song, dance and film star Bob Hope, whose many televised USO shows in Vietnam gained legions of fans in-theater and back home, this highly customized Cushman golf cart was designed and built at Barris Kustoms with major features, including a ball-cap roof and caricature Bob Hope facial features such as a "ski-jump" nose and jutting chin. Other highlights include a TV set, stereo system, loud horn and rear-mounted camera so Mr. Hope could film his swing. In 1973, this wild, one-off custom golf cart appeared with Bob Hope in a fun ad for the new-for-1973 Ford Galaxie 500. In September 2020, Dr. Berkowitz acquired this singular creation and added it to his wonderful and growing collection of movie and TV vehicles and artifacts. From The Dr. Stewart A.
