Originally manufactured in the U.K., this 1995 Land Rover Defender 90 is in near-original condition. It was sold directly into the Italian market, where it spent its life in a dry, non-corrosive environment. As one of the earliest models equipped with the upgraded 2.5-liter TDI 300 engine rated at 111hp - a significant improvement over the TDI 200. Brought to the U.S. as part of a military relocation, it was meticulously imported with valid U.S. registration and maintaining its storied Italian ownership history. Upon acquisition, it underwent extensive inspection and repair by a mechanic with over 50 years of Land Rover expertise, including steering joint revision, power steering hose replacements, valve settings and calibration, replacement of hoses, tie rod ends and anti-vibration joints, brake booster and fluid replacement, clutch boot replacement and filter services, power steering pump service and LED upgrades to headlights, blinkers and brake lights for improved visibility. The paint, engine, wheels and interior remain original. Additional post-import modifications include installing scratch-resistant vinyl wood flooring in the rear, added bench seating and sliding windows in the back with 15% tint, refreshed main engine seals and T-seals, replaced sump gasket, timing belt and battery, and realigned doors for secure closure, as well as upgraded with a footstep, mud flaps and rear folding step for easier access. All documentation and receipts are included in sale. The sale includes a British Heritage Certificate.
