Details
This custom 1974 Generation 1 Ford Bronco four-wheel-drive SUV recently completed a full custom frame-off build that was a collaboration between C&C Motorsports, Tre5 Customs and Unique Upholstery of Arizona, with over 2,000 hours spent on fabrication, body and paintwork. The powerplant consists of a Gen 3 5.0-liter Coyote crate engine mated to a Ford 10-speed (10R80) automatic transmission with a Dana 20 dual-range transfer case. Everything in the engine bay, from the custom-made cold-air intake to the remote oil reservoir was designed to work seamlessly with every detail for enhanced engine performance, for which Tre5 are known. The meticulous body and paint work performed by C&C Motorsports is recognized on close inspection. Additional features include Ultimate stainless-steel headers mated to the custom Borla stainless-steel exhaust that provides the notes upon cold start and hard acceleration. The total 6.5-inch lift comes from the 3-inch body lift, as well as a Wildhorse variable rate front coil and 3.5-inch progressive rear leaf springs. The lift allows the required clearance for the 33-inch BFGoodrich A/T tires wrapped around a set of Detroit Steel wheels. The wheels are then mounted to a Dana 44 differential up front with a Ford 9-inch rear end sporting 4.10 ring & pinion gears and 31-spline axles. It features disc brakes on all four corners with an electric brake booster providing enhanced stopping performance. To handle the larger tires, the significant horsepower increase and the added height, power steering was a must. All exterior light bezels have been converted to Wildhorse's billet components. The exterior was expertly painted with what is being described as an elevated Royal Blue, along with a Wimbledon White hardtop. In keeping with the color scheme, the interior 4-point roll cage was painted to match the body, so everything still coordinates when the weather allows top-down driving. The custom interior is the product of Unique Upholstery, from the fully formed center console, square-weave carpet taken from a Porsche and the dark leather cowhide to the Vintage Air system and the meticulously formed headliner. This is a fresh build with test/tune miles only.
